What does it really look like to show up for ourselves as creatives and “do the work”?

In this episode of Live Creatively, I’m talking with my friend Kait Fontenot, a Texas based designer and developer, about what it really looks like to show up for yourself in life and business…even on the hard days.

Kait is the Founder and Lead Designer & Developer at Kait Studio where she works with women from all over the world to launch and scale their digital brands. Kait began her agency 7 years ago after leaving a beloved career in retail with a laptop, a baby on her lap, and a goal to help women launch online without unnecessary stress.

What I love most about Kait is that she keeps it real. In this episode, Kait shares so much encouragement and wisdom from what she has learned along her journey. I think you’ll be surprised by how Kait answers this important question and feel refreshed by the advice she has to offer fellow creative entrepreneurs.

Listen in as Kait and I chat about:

  • The importance of simply choosing to show up every single day
  • What “doing the work” really looks like
  • Developing a strong work ethic and taking responsibility for the opportunities we’ve been given
  • The not-so-sexy side of being a creative business owner
  • The power of rest and the vital importance of taking time to care for ourselves as creatives

This conversation with Kait is so refreshing and I believe it’s a timely reminder that we all need to hear right now.

What does it mean to Kait to Live Creatively?

“So I think to me, having kids, to live creatively means living a little bit outside of the box. Like, what can we do everyday that feels a little bit different to try new things so that we’re expanding our awareness, expanding our surroundings. We’re meeting new people. We’re giving ourselves the opportunity to open  up and meet someone other than keeping our head down. I think living creatively to me is just finding the space in your day to love your life. ”
