What does it really mean to live creatively?

I couldn’t imagine kicking off this podcast with a better, or more appropriate, question. In this first episode of the Live Creatively podcast, Megan Alexander and I talk about just that. We dive deep into one of my favorite passages of scripture, the one that inspired me to start this podcast, actually.

Galatians 6:4-5 (The Message)

“Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.”

In this episode, we break down this passage line by line and Megan shares what it means to her to “live creatively.” We chat about what that has looked like for her, both personally and professionally, as a woman, wife, and mother. She also shares some stories about the challenges she has navigated working in the entertainment space and how she has had the courage to be true to who she is no matter the situation or circumstance.

What does it mean to Megan to Live Creatively?

“I think it means…feeling like you can step into your destiny and your calling on the Earth – that you are fulfilling what God created you to do. Creative isn’t necessarily a paintbrush, or a video camera, or artwork…I think it’s stepping into that God-given calling, living it out, and fulfilling why we’re place on the Earth in the first place, which is to bring glory to God’s name and love our fellow man. That’s living creatively and I think that’s living freely, too.”

If you are curious about how you too can live your creative best life while staying true to who you are, this episode is for you!
